Dr. Misra-Sauparn, one of the top endodontic/root canal specialists in Potomac, grew up in India and began her career as a dentist in 2007. She practiced privately and taught dentistry as an Assistant Professor before deciding to pursue Advanced Specialty Training in Endodontics at New York University. She relocated to Northern Virginia after receiving her specialty degree in Endodontics.

An RCT entails removing infected pulp containing live tissues from the innermost layer of the tooth (pulp chamber). The endodontist drills a hole in the tooth to reach the pulp chamber and cleans it out completely before sealing it with a special dental filling. Once the tooth has healed completely, a crown is fixed on the tooth to prevent further damage to it and to provide additional support it.
